Our client is a leading Oil and Gas organization in Apapa seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with solid cost accounting expertise. The ideal candidate will manage cost structures, financial reporting, budgeting processes, and internal controls to support strategic decision-making.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Accountant (Cost Accountant) will be responsible for:

● Preparing and maintaining detailed cost accounting records and cost analysis reports.

● Monitoring product costs, operational expenses, and variances to support pricing and budgeting decisions.

● Conducting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reconciliations and reporting.

● Reviewing inventory valuation, stock movement, and cost of goods sold (COGS).

● Developing cost control strategies and recommending improvements to reduce waste and optimize financial performance.

● Preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial models for management review.

● Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory policies.

● Supervising junior accounting staff and supporting audit processes.

● Providing financial insights to management for strategic planning and operational efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS

● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

● Minimum of 10 years proven experience in Accounting, with strong cost accounting background.

● Must be a Chartered Accountant.

● MSc or MBA is an added advantage.

● Deep understanding of cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis.

● High proficiency in accounting software and MS Office tools.

● Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

● Strong integrity, communication, and organizational ability.
